Description

The most famous museum in Paris hosts an exhibition on a great civilisation of Antiquity whose history remains little-known. The Hittite Empire reigned over a vast territory, which corresponds to modern day Turkey and Syria, until 1,200 BC.

This exhibition brings together archaeological remains from sites that bear witness to the existence of the Hittites, like Tell Halaf, but also artefacts that trace people's daily lives during this era. These allow us to understand more about this important period in history, which could otherwise almost be forgotten.
